Mucus-Only Method: Creighton Model

- Tell us a little about yourself.I feel like we’re friends 🤷♀️ I like memes, dogs and good food!
- What effects has fertility awareness had on your relationship? It’s been a good test. We try to share the responsibility of charting, but it mostly falls to me. Charting has helped me discover and get a diagnosis of Endo, but it also discovered lots more problems that make it tough for our marriage. The worst is the painful intercourse, which has made intimacy so difficult.
- How did you find your instructor?I found her on IG, and it was $65/per virtual visit. We had one visit since I was transferring from another FCP.
- Describe your daily charting routine.Charting about 2 years. I check mucus, but also use LH test strips at the instructions of my FCP. It’s been good overall, although the mental load is a lot. My charts are wonky with endo, so it’s difficult constantly seeing the visual representation of my messed up body all the time.
- What made you choose this method? We chose this method because I was most familiar with it and heard it was cheapest 😂 I love that it’s mucus only, and truthfully it has been super affordable compared to other methods that my friends use. I dislike that I constantly have to make judgements on my observations because I can be wrong.
- Has charting helped you to understand your overall health?Yes! I was diagnosed with Endometriosis and low progesterone.
- Did you stop using this method? If so, why?Currently stopped due to pregnancy. Haven’t ever been pregnant for this long, so we’re hoping baby #3 sticks.
