- Tell us a little about yourself.INTJ, Catholic, detail-oriented, BFA in interior design, baker, quilter, adoptive mom, nurturer, gentle parent, perfectionist, procrastinator
- What effects has fertility awareness had on your relationship? We began using NFP to try to conceive during infertility. I do believe it strengthened our relationship, but it’s difficult to separate it from our infertility journey.
- How did you find your instructor?Referred by my NaPro doctor back in 2008. At the time, she charged a larger fee for the introduction and $35 for follow-ups. We continued monthly follow-ups for over a year.
- Describe your daily charting routine.Record in evenings, charted from 2008-2015. Recorded mucus patterns, bleeding, and PMS/PMDD symptoms. From the infertility side of things, it was taxing and elevated my anxiety.
- What made you choose this method?Trying to conceive while infertile, NaPro doctors insist on Creighton. It’s very thorough, but mentally exhausting.
- Has charting helped you to understand your overall health? It did help pinpoint some irregularities for me, but bloodwork did the same thing.
- Did you switch to this method from another one? If so, why?Trying to conceive after an infertility diagnosis. Steep learning curve, but I was diligent and meticulous.
- Did you stop using this method? If so, why?Received a permanent infertility diagnosis and decided it was too mentally taxing to continue charting with this level of detail, knowing we couldn’t conceive.
