I’m a newly married Catholic living in the Pacific Northwest. I work as an electrical engineer in the aerospace industry. When not working you can find me running, backpacking, and biking with my husband.
Fertility awareness has increased the communication around intimacy with my husband. We both feel very in tune with each other’s bodies and have loved starting our marriage using NFP.
I found my instructor through the Seattle Archdiocese. She charged $100 for the intro course and follow up (took this before I was engaged). After I got engaged we did a couples focused course and that was $200, for 2 sessions and follow up charting check-ins.
I use the TempDrop to track the temperature overnight and sync it to the app every morning. I check for mucus and sensation throughout the day and record it in the app. At this time I am not using cervix position in charting.
I was concerned by my ability to do mucus only, as I really struggle to understand and discern the differences in types of mucus. Additionally I wanted something that I could do on an app so that my husband could have access to it as well. I like that if I have a bad mucus reading we can rely on the temperature only. I dislike the ambiguity about deciding what the peak day is. I feel like we could have less fertile days with another method.
Yes! I discovered I have a low BBT and was able to get checked for thyroid issues. Additionally I have been able to understand more of my behavioral changes throughout my cycle.
