Sympto-Hormonal Method: FEMM
👩🏾🤝👨🏽⛪📈🚸🥼 💊
- Tell us a little about yourself.INFJ. Book nerd (especially classics). Chocolate and coffee. Love to study. Theology degree, about to start masters in psych. Kids are loud but adorable. I am introverted. Was gas lighted as a teen and put on the pill for hormonal reasons/PCOS. Took myself off, found FA, and never looked back. My passion for educating teens and women about FA stems from this experience. FEMM and tennFEMM certified in 2018.
- What effects has fertility awareness had on your relationship? It’s definitely been both a grace and a hardship for our marriage. My phase 2 is looooong - I overproduce CM and so we have always had way more no days than go days whenever TTA. Sometimes it’s just not fun or easy to connect in other ways (SPICE is nice…but ya know, takes work and we have a bunch of kids and we are tired lol). There have def been graces though. We are more open with our communication re. sex now after years of NFP. And we know that we are human, but trying to put each other’s needs before our own. It takes work and it’s worth it! But it’s not roses.
- How did you find your instructor?I found FEMM online and learned directly from their educators course. Before FEMM, we loosely used CCL. But we never had an instructor.
- Describe your daily charting routine.Charting since 2002, very loosely. Got more serious in 2009 with marriage. CM, LH, sometimes progesterone. Good effects on my life - I feel empowered by knowing what my body is doing.
- Has charting helped you to understand your overall health?Yes yes yes! Most especially re. my mental health.
- Did you switch to this method from another one? If so, why?I switched from CCL because FEMM seemed to me more research and science heavy. I like that.
