Mucus Only Method: Creighton Model
💍⛪👌🏻🥼

  • Tell us a little about yourself.
I'm an introverted extrovert. I love to binge watch TV but also love to stay active! I'm getting married very soon and will be moving right down the road from my parents. I finished college at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette two years ago and work at Ampirical Solutions as a Transmission and Distribution Line Engineer.
  • What effects has fertility awareness had on your relationship?
Fertility awareness has positively affected my relationship with my fiance through deeper conversation, better planning for our Natural Family Planning, and just being educated on what's going on with my health. Exploring how our fertility will affect the way we plan and communicate makes me feel a little more prepared with the future conversations to come and gives me peace that we are on the same page about NFP.
  • How did you find your instructor?
Through Friends and $50 for classes early on (to learn about the program), and $25 for chart reviews
  • Describe your daily charting routine.
I have been charting for about 2 years. I check my mucus everytime before and after using the bathroom, shower, getting in the pool and before bed. I chart my most fertile mucus of the day at the end of the day. It doesn't affect my life too much, but I know it will once I'm married and sexually active.
  • What made you choose this method?
I experience painful periods and PMS. I heard two women give a talk on how those symptoms seemed normal, but explained that it was indicating something may be wrong with your fertility. I began the creighton method to prepare myself for NFP, but to see if there was something I needed to fix in order to get pregnant one day.
  • Has charting helped you to understand your overall health?
Yes, it's helped me to be aware of why I am feeling the way I do during my cycle. It also has pushed me to go see a doctor and begin the process of looking into what could be wrong with my fertility.
  • Did you stop using this method? If so, why?
As I begin to get closer to my wedding, I am beginning to use LH strips to help me to identify when I ovulate. Creighton helps me to see my continuous mucus and shows me my fertile window, but it is helpful to feel confident on my ovulation day.
