  • Tell us a little about yourself.
Degree in classics, extrovert, family in England but moved to Holland for Dutch husband
  • What effects has fertility awareness had on your relationship?
Charting for napro after miscarriage was very tough because we were under doctor's orders not to conceive and the threat of a second miscarriage meant a lot of anxiety. My husband was wonderful though, I would say strengthened our relationship but a hard road.
  • First Method: Sympto Thermal - How did you find your instructor?
A friend, free since she was training
  • Describe your daily charting routine.
A couple of months on this method, mainly temperature readings, before marriage
  • What made you choose this method?
    A friend used it
  • Did you stop using this method? If so, why?
I stopped after I got married and realised I didn't feel like I had a proper grasp on the situation
  • Second Method: Creighton Model - How did you find your instructor?
    A friend, Β£50 a session, 5 or 6 sessions
  • Describe your daily charting routine.
Check every bathroom visit, shower, and end of day. Chart end of day. Mucus only. I find it quite involved and very cautious, ie. Always erring on the side of abstaining for three days as soon as you miss an observation or aren't sure. This was hard on our sex life at times. Grateful for the medical support of napro it gave us access to.
  • What made you choose this method?
Wanting more certainty about what was happening, and then also napro support after a miscarriage
  • Has charting helped you to understand your overall health?
Yes in terms of reproductive health info from napro doctor and watching the chart change under her care
  • Did you switch to this method from another one? If so, why?
Wanted a better grasp on the situation. It was a steep learning curve!
